Works
Overview

A series of 5x new forget-me-not works from my botanical SIMPLING collection exhibited at Sotherby's CRAFTED - courtesey of Ruup & Form Gallery for London Craft Week 2026.

SIMPLING is an ongoing series which lie at the intersection of reproductive justice, patriarchal control, and ecological amnesia. These works position the forget-me-not as a botanical signifier of womxn’s ethnobotanical knowledge - operating as both instruction and invocation, insisting on remembrance in the face of cultural erasure.

Each piece is hand-engraved into brass, informed by the visual language of embroidery. In doing so, the labour of engraving is placed in dialogue with historically feminised forms of making. A tension is held between material and subject - the permanence of brass, aligned with traditions of monumentality, and the fragility of the flower and the knowledge it carries.
